A project of Reach Out Honduras
In 2014, we will be adding at least 2 new classrooms... one has been funded by Riverside Church of Christ in Coppell, TX.
Education is an enormous need here... the mayor of Puerto Lempira has donated land for a future Christian school with English emphasis for middle and high school aged students.
Reach Out Honduras is building Christian, middle and high school for poor children of the La Mosquitia region of Honduras. Right now, the public middle school is over-crowded, under-funded and a haven for illegal drug activity. There is not a consistent public high school option for poor children. There is a private high school; however, the tuition is out of reach for 90% of the children of this region.
The school will offer students 2 meals each day so that their physical needs are met in order to study well.
We open our doors on February 3, 2014 with 60 students!
We currently have 3 classrooms built and will need 2 more classrooms built in 2014 for the 2015 school year. Riverside Church of Christ has provided the funds for one of the 2014 classrooms... just one more needed!
Please join us in prayer over this God-sized project.
