Abandoned as an infant, sick and malnourished, Isabela spent her precious formative years of early childhood in an orphanage. She had no birth certificate, no family visits, and no known personal history. For years, her case remained inactive within the child welfare system.

The Orphan Institute worked tirelessly along with the government on Isabela’s behalf to establish her true identity. Using a variety of investigative methods, the Institute was able to locate Isabela’s grandmother, who expressed a genuine desire to care for her. Necessary legal documents were secured, and Isabela was reunited with her family after living in an orphanage for over four years.

To protect Isabela's identity, her real name has not been used, but the story is one which demonstrates the personal impact of the Orphan Institute in the life of a child.
