Anahata's mission to share the health benefits of yoga to individuals in need as brought them to the West Bank.
Yoga changed my life. The moment that I took my first yoga class in June of 2005, I knew it was what I had been searching for. I didn't know what yoga would end up helping me get through in my life then, but I felt the practice in my soul. Something inside me kept me going back to my mat. Anahata International is an international nonprofit organization based in Washington, DC with a mission is to share the physical and mental health benefits of yoga and holistic wellness services with individuals in need. They provide teacher trainings and sustainable wellness programs to vulnerable communities around the world. In July 2012, Anahata completed a 60-hour foundational teacher training for 16 women in Ramallah, West Bank. To complete the program and support the graduates as they share yoga with their communities, they need to raise $20,000 for additional support and a second training in 2013. And I'm going to help make it happen because "Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle ..."
