Fundraiser for the SPCA!

India is raising money for the SPCA!

Its a special cause for India because she is a shelter dog. India found her family in 2004 at 1 year old after being adopted by her mom, Xochitl.

India had been returned to the pound 2 times and abandoned another time. She was a very naughty little dog! India loved trash cans and eating people's couches and shoes! Her previous owners did not like this and so they dropped her off in the rural areas of Newcastle to be picked up by animal control.

India was later adopted twice but they new owners weren't very happy about her jumping on people and ripping their furniture up, so they brought her back. :(

India was sad. It wasn't her fault, no one ever taught her that it wasn't nice to eat couches or clothes or jump on people. She was still young and was just playing.

When her mom found her, she was covered in white paint from head to toe because she had been looking for food at the dumpster. She was skinny and dirty but she found a new home and family. Her mom promised her that she would never go back to that place again.

India had to go through a lot of one on one training with her mom and learned not to eat couches or Victoria's Secret bras. She soon learned how to walk on a leash and even play nice with other dogs and little kids. She also learned not to jump and that barking is not ok in the house. She now quietly "says please" if she wants something. She also learned how to knock on the door if she wants in, open drawers to get her toys and put them away and even knows how to open the front door! India even visits sick people now in care homes to try and cheer them up. She is very gentle with them.

India is very happy with her new home and has been living there for 7 years now. She goes on walks every day with her mom and papa and likes to run on the lawn and burry walnuts in her grandma's potted plants (she's just helping with the garden). Her family loves her and she has lots of "cousins" like Maggie, Sammy, Lady and Buddy and she likes playing at the park with kids and dogs and loves car rides!

India knows that not all dogs get to find new forever homes and that some have to stay at the shelter for a very long time. This is why the shelter needs more money to be able to give these little guys a place to live and food to eat while they are waiting to find their new forever homes.

India would really appreciate it if you could find it in your heart to make a tax deductible donation to the SPCA and help her friends find a family to call their own.
