A project of GLOBAL DISCIPLES
impact49 is a simple way for you to make a powerful impact for Christ by empowering indigenous believers around the world in gospel sharing!
After going through the trainings, Sabin* started a small kitchenware shop. One day a man entered Sabin's store and picked up a few items and brought them to the counter, asking for the price. When Sabin stated the total price, the man picked up the items, threw them against the wall and turned to walk out. Sabin raised his hand and called out, "God bless you!" The shopper turned around and yelled, "What did you say?!" Again Sabin raised his hand and said, "God bless you." "Why would you say that?" the man snarled. "I just threw your things against the wall!" For the third time, Sabin raised his hand and said, "God bless you." The man's tone softened as he asked again, "Why would you say that?" Sabin replied, "Because I used to be a person quick to anger, just like you. You see, before I met Jesus..." Sabin went on to share how God had worked to change his heart and life. Then he offered the man the same peace he had found in Jesus. That day, two men left the shop rejoicing with hearts that knew forgiveness and peace with God.
This is just one of thousands of stories about God working through indigenous believers and small business to spread His Gospel in the hardest-to-reach areas of the world!
It’s estimated that two billion people in the world have never had the opportunity to hear the Good News of Jesus in a way to which they can respond. Most of these people live in Africa and Asia. Outreach can be risky and even life threatening, keeping the vast majority of today’s Christian missionaries from working in these unreached areas. Through impact49, Global Disciples is effectively — and significantly — impacting lives by training and equipping people who live in these areas to be disciples.
The trainings occur in three concentrations: disciple-making (church planting), small business development (a means of becoming self-sustainable), and leadership development.
The value is incredible!
$588 = 1 leader developed + 1 church planted + 1 small business started
The encouraging thing is that it is working!
92% of all discipleship-mission programs started in the last 15 years are continuing today as locally sustainable, reproducible training and sending ministries. In the past five years alone, we’ve seen:
God is moving in a powerful way!
