We are riding 400 miles in 4 days from Alton IL to Chicago, IL to raise money for the families of fallen officers.

I will be participating in the 300+ mile C.O.P.S. ride in honor of fallen officer Jon Walsh from the Joliet P.D. I am an officer In Burr Ridge, where Jon worked before going to Joliet. Over the past two years, I have helped raise money for the C.O.P.S organization by participating in charities softball games that were set up to help Jon's family and other families that take part in the C.O.P.S. organization. I never met Jon but was going to school in Joliet around the time he had passed. At the time I had a desire to work in Law Enforcement but hadnt made that choice to make it happen. After seeing the everlasting procession of squad cars and officers honoring their fallen brother in blue, my desire quickly became reality and I worked to achieve my goal of where I am today, having a career in law enforement.

IL COPS is an amazing organization. Although I truly care about all the survivors...I will always hold a secial place for Jon Walsh, Joliet PD and Harold Lane Caldwell,Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics...may their memory never leave us.
