I Need Your Help!

James 2:15-16
If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and be filled,” and yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that?

I listen to Kidd Kraddick every morning, and while much of this talk show is just humor and filler, it just so happened that this morning at the office I walked back to my desk from the printer just in time to hear what Kellie Rasberry had to say:

...Meals on Wheels has run out of money! The majority of the people suffering are elderly retirees that can't afford these ridiculous electric bills, so instead of using the heater they sit in the kitchen all day with the oven on....

My heart sank. How could any of us be alright with that?? Especially when all it takes is sacrificing our morning coffee or a trip to McDonalds. Why is it that the few organizations that have an actual mission and serve a pure purpose are the things that we forget about? Have we really lost all sight of what we're here for? I know you and I are not spending every spare moment at soup kitchens or inviting the homeless to dinner. But HELLO!! There are more practical ways to help!

Don't be lazy or turn a blind eye, but instead get online and visit mealsonwheels.org and click on the "How to Help" tab and be a part of the whole picture. Be a part of something that actually matters.
