Mentoring Works. Help me reach my goal so that many more underserved youth can be connected to caring mentors.
My dear Friends & Family:
Many of you have heard me talk endlessly about iMentor. I have been working for this amazing organization for over one year now and am forever amazed at the work that we do.
What some of you may not know is that I also serve as a mentor through the organization to a bright young woman named Marangelly (Mara). Mara is a senior who lives and attends high school in the Bronx. She is the first in her family to be going to college and it has been a pleasure providing her the guidance and support that she needs to get through the process. The best part of it all is that I have learned so much from her. Her patience and strength in the face of adversity are truly inspiring. I’ve learned that I don’t need to have all of the answers and that lending a listening ear is just as important, if not even more, than offering words of advice. I am very proud of Mara and know that she will continue to touch many lives as she embarks on her journey to become a teacher of children with special needs.
My story is not unique. Currently iMentor is supporting 1,200 mentor-mentee relationships and is changing lives one match at a time. In order to continue to do this we need your help. I know that times are tough for everyone but if you are looking to donate to a worthy cause, here it is. Please consider making a donation to help me reach my $1,000 goal.
Thanks a bunch!
P.S. I am competing against other mentors so check out the Leader Board (http://www.razoo.com/p/iMentor-Online-Donor-Drive) periodically to see if I make the cut. Also feel free to pass this message along to your friends. Every bit helps!
