My amazing friends: Thanks in advance for reading my annual iMentor Manifesto. :)

This year, there are several ways (including two non-financial ways !!) to help, so please read through this message and HELP .

It would really mean alot to me. 2010 is iMentor's TENTH anniversary, AND it's MY OWN TENTH anniversary at iMentor! I still carry on my phone the email job offer from Rich Buery in 2000. It was titled "Yeah!!!!!!!," contained no salary or start date info., and served as the only written job offer.

Back then, it was a tiny startup with unbelievable staff (now my life long friends!). We served just a handful of schools and less than 100 or so mentor-mentee pairs. We were just trying to build a program out of a great idea and vision of the founders.

Fast forward ten years and I'm a married mother of two little kids and help lead this amazing organization with Mike and other colleagues whom I respect and love so much. iMentor now has a full time staff of 37, budget of 5 MILLION dollars and serve 1200 mentor-mentee pairs in NYC and thousands more nationally through iMentor Interactive!

After ten years, three job titles and two tiny kids demanding my undivided attention, my work at iMentor continues to inspire me, challenge me, and make me a whole, happy person. More importantly, we connect young people with caring volunteer mentors via powerful combination of email and in-person events, help students graduate from high school (92%!) and helping to lead the national mentoring movement. I would love for you to join our work.

So here are 4 ways to help us this month. Please pick at least two things to support my work.:)

• DONATE $10, $100, $250, $500.. you get the idea. It costs us $1,000 per year to support our work with one mentee. Every $1 adds up, and helps us build up our donor base. MY GOAL is to raise $3,000 in honor of my three mentees through the program: Laticha, Kerry Ann & Mariama (pictured here.)
• If you have $1,000, please join me at iMentor's super fabulous 10th Anniversary Gala on June 3rd! If you can't attend, please consider purchasing a ticket for a mentee or one of my colleagues to attend to celebrate our 10 years of accomplishments! Call/email me and I will send you more info!
