Help me reach my fundraising goal so we can make a difference. "One Kid At a Time"

Family and Friends,

As many of you know I am currently a volunteer for iMentor. This is my first year in the program and I have found it to be an amazing experience so far. My current mentee is David De La O. David is currently a junior at Bronx Preparatory Charter School, which is located in the South Bronx. David's family migrated from El Salvador following the civil war and they currently reside in the Bronx. David enjoys soccer and most importantly he values family. I met David during the fall of 2009 and our friendship has blossomed from the first day we met. From ice skating to discussions about life, David has become the younger brother I never had. iMentor matched David and I for three years. Our friendship will go beyond three years as I plan to assist him with his college applications and I hope to be there when he walks across the stage in 2015.

For those of you who don't know much about iMentor, iMentor was founded in 1999 by John Griffin, Rich Buery, and Matt Klein. Over the past six years the program has grown from 49 students to over 700+ students. iMentor has provided mentors to over 2,000 students from over 30+ New York City Schools and After School programs. When I first moved to New York I wanted to find a way to make a difference in the community. I heard about iMentor through work and from that point on I have passed the word onto others looking for an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others. Each of us has had a mentor or person in our lives who made a difference.

iMentor has launched an Online Donor Drive for all mentors to help spread the word about iMentor, but also to help raise funding to fuel growth for next year. The Online Donor Drive goes through April 19th and their goal is $50,000. No donation is too small and every dollar counts.

Each dollar goes toward the below:

$25 Gives one mentee free access to 60 iMentor Events

$50 Provides one mentee an iMentor Email Account

$100 Provides one mentee with a year of access to monthly career and college skills workshops

$500 Enrolls one new mentee in iMentor for 1 year

$1000 Supports a new mentor - mentee match for 1 year

Thank you for your support and friendship.

Ambrose
