Hymnus Choir

Founded in 2002,the mission of Hymnus is to give people of the greater New Prague are ~boys, girls, teens, and adults~ the opportunity to experience the joy and satisfaction of learning and singing great music of western tradition. Choristers are taught solid skills involving vocal production and sight singing alongside adults, to the same standard as adults. Choristers are encouraged to give back to their community by participating in the Minnesota Adopt a Highway program, ringing bells for the Salvation Army, and other charitable events. Hymnus funds are low, as utility bills and other costs of running and organization have depleted the bank account. These boys, girls, and teens work very hard at school, and then come to rehearsal to work on pieces by Palestrina, Rachmaninoff, and the like. Choral works that are not usually presented in a small rural community. Members are of all faiths, backgrounds, race, and economic situations. Money donated will be used to keep our rehearsal space and directors, and to buy music, and choir uniforms. Our website is www.hymnus.us
