Strive to meet the needs of the poor, hungry & homeless by providing a continuum of care so that clients can achieve independence.
Our Vision:
Transform Lives...One Person at a Time.
Our Mission:
Feed those in need, house those experiencing homelessness, and empower individuals to achieve independence.
Our Programs:
Food Centre— Our Food Centre serves daily free, hot, nutritious meals to anyone who walks through our doors, no questions asked. It is the only public meal facility in Minneapolis open 7 days/week and 365 days/year. We typically feed 350 men, women and children each day.
Day by Day - An out patient chemical dependency treatment program ppen to adult men and women with chronic chemical dependency, mental health, and major life issues. Individual recovery plans are created to best serve each client. Counseling, health, wellness and workforce development training are provided.
Housing for the long-term homeless - We house 103 adult men and women who have been homeless for extended periods of time, have no financial resources, experience significant barriers to employment and are in need of support. Last August, we began participating in the Housing First program through Hennepin County. The program places clients in affordable housing in the community and overlays supportive services.
Case Mnagement - Every housing client, including individuals in Housing First, work with a Case Manager. Clients set goals for a better life and work toward them with a case manager as advocate and guide. Client goals typically center on permanent housing, education, employment and improved relationships.
In order to provide food, housing and support through case management to our clients and guests, we need your financial support. Every dollar donated to House of Charity goes to making a difference in the life of a person experiencing homelessness. You can make a difference for those in need. Every gift, regardless of size, is needed and appreciated.
