We need a HOME for the Holidays!

During our visit to Asha House yesterday, we found out about an URGENT need. It turns out that the children and the staff are literally being kicked out of the home they've been living in for the past 4 years. The landlord has decided to rent the property to another organization for twice the amount, and he's decided to do it quickly. The staff, all 30 children, and all of their belongings have to be out of this house by December 17th!

To make matters worse, the only piece of property that will meet their needs (and their budget) is in no way ready to be a functional Children's Home. Right now it's just a rundown school building, and as you can see in the video above, it needs a lot of work!

We've talked with our partners, and after touring the property we agree that this is the best "future home" for the children. This move will actually give them a lot more space, as well as saving a considerable amount of money for them each month! It will also allow them to take in more orphans and vulnerable children who desperately need a safe and loving home. After visiting a brothel and a leper colony this week and seeing the extreme povery here in India up close - we can't stress enough how important it is to rescue and care for as many children as possible!

So... here's where YOU come in! We need $5,000 ASAP to make the neccessary repairs and home improvements before the children have to move next month. Without this money, they will literally have no where to go.

I know that many of you are reading this from America, where you're preparing for the holidays. As you make your list, and check it twice - please ask yourself what you could sacrifice in order to provide for these children. It's so easy to get caught up in consumerism this time of year, and to overspend on silly things - but this is a gift that will definitely outlast all those sweaters and socks and ties!
