Hnub Tshiab: Hmong Women Achieving Together envisions a day when there is on-going funding generated by our own endowment that will help us meet our mission of being a catalyst for lasting cultural, institutional, and social change to improve the lives of Hmong women. Also, that there is a safe place for Hmong women to gather around each other, and that we are not dependent on foundation funding and volunteer efforts alone to sustain our work.

The words “catalyst” and “lasting” in our mission means that we must ensure that future and current generations of Hmong American women’s lives continue to improve. Our coalition of support is growing, and over thousands of lives have already been touched through our 12 years of operation.

Our target of 3 million will do two things:

• Capital Fund: Purchase and maintain operations of a Hmong Women’s Center that will be a house for Hmong women and girls to convene, provide support for each other, and allow space for social action and change to occur. Currently, the organization is “virtual” and has no office space, program-owned space, or operating facilities. We project $500,000 needed for the acquisition, rehab, and establishment of a fund to enable upkeep and operations of the house.
• Endowment Fund: Endow Hnub Tshiab: Hmong Women Achieving Together to continue to do its work into perpetuity. At a conservative 5% interest, 2.5 million will enable us to fund one full time staff position that will be dedicated to improve the lives of Hmong women forever.
