HMP is a Buddhist Outreach to the Homeless Community.
Homeless Meditation Practitioners is an Outreach of the Yogi Tsoru Dechen Rinpoche Foundation.
We share Buddhist Teachings, Meditation Instruction, and form HMP Groups within Homeless Shelters, Rehabs, Detoxes, Treatment Centers, pay per week motels, parks, under bridges, half-way houses, and anywhere else people suffer
Our main job is just Being There...'Filling Emptiness with Form.'
We do this because, although some estimate that there are over 100 million homeless people in the world...there are only a handful of Buddhist groups doing Outreach in this area.
We listen, learn, interact, and offer folks some meditation techniques that help with stress, alcoholism, depression, certain mental disorders, as well as the daily struggle of just being Human.
We are a fellowship of Buddhist Practitioners who want to reach-out and expand our hearts. We fellowship with Practitioners from all Lineages and NO-Lineages...and together 'we can' extend the Hand of Buddhism to the Homeless Community Worldwide.
