All donations will be used to purchase supplies and equipment to create a fun and safe atmosphereis for neighborhood children.
Virginia Wesleyan has sponsored a Neighborhood Tutoring program that has been held at Heritage UMC for 13 years. Circle K has been involved in the program in different ways, but in recent years, we have planned outdoor activities for the children after they study. During this time, we noticed that there were several areas that were unsafe as well as unusable.
Our Circle K club decided that, as neighbors and co-supporters, we would work to revitalize the playground so that the children at tutoring and in the community would have a fun and safe area to play in.
Our plans are based off a city inspection and include demolishing the existing wooden structure, staining the swing set, and replacing the swing set equipment. The demolition of the playground structure will allow for more free space and it is our desire to eventually fence in the area and add a sandbox.
Our day of work is April 10, 2010- Kiwanis 1 Day- and will include church, campus, and community volunteers. We greatly appreciate your support and plan on a huge success!
All donations are received and receipted by Razoo Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) charity that operates a donor advised fund to fulfill donor advisements.
