Help Us Eliminate the Threat of Guns On Our Streets

Everyday, while watching the news there are several stories of gun violence that occured in the United States. As an intern at the Brady Campaign, I have been shocked by the multitude of stories and cases I have heard that could have easily been stopped with the creation of commonsense gun laws or stricter enforcement of current gun laws.

For example, the gunshow loophole allows for anyone to buy a gun from a gunshow without needing a Brady Criminal Background Check. Some gun dealers turn a blind eye to straw purchases happening in their store or happen to have several guns "go missing" or "stolen".

Too many people in America are being killed and injured by guns. I believe in the Brady Center's mission to take action to save lives and prevent gun injuries.

We can do that by demanding that our elected officials take action because right now it is too easy for dangerous people to get dangerous weapons. We can know the facts (www.bradycenter.org/facts ) and educate others about the toll gun violence takes on our country.
