Empower immigrant and refugee women to channel their artistic talents into small businesses which create economic self sufficiency.

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

As some of you know, I serve as Chair of the Board of Empowered Women International and continue to be inspired by the amazing women who come through our doors. These are women who have come to the United States in search of freedom, equality, hope, opportunity and safety. Women from India, Rwanda, Mexico, Peru, Hungary and Cameroon. Women who want a better life for themselves and their families; women who are fleeing genocide, domestic violence and other forms of persecution; women who simply want the freedom of expression and movement that we who were born here take so for granted.

EWI helps these women to channel their creative and artistic abilities into sustainable businesses by teaching them entrepreneurial and financial skills, providing one-on-one coaching and helping open up new markets for these emerging entrepreneurs.

As a result, these women gain confidence and self-esteem, become economically self-sufficient and integrate into American society.

Please visit the EWI website -- www.ewint.org -- for more information.

This latest fundraising initiative starts with a healthy commitment from other donors to be used as matching funds for your donation. So please, consider a donation of any amount -- no matter how small -- to help EWI continue its important work.

It's incredibly empowering and inspiring for me as the Founder and Executive Director of EWI to serve the talented, yet vulnerable women that come through doors every day. Yesterday we received a phone call from an Iraqi refugee, a graduate of our entrepreneur training, who recently lost her job. But that didn’t stop her to call us to make a $10 donation to help EWI in this campaign and to help other women in need. Please follow your heart and honor someone special in your life by giving a donation to help the brave and courageous women of EWI rebuild their lives and futures. When thrive, our communities and the economy are stronger!
