The Torch Theatre is replacing our stolen video camera. We hope to continue recording our shows for years to come.
The Torch Theatre produces several improv comedy & theatre shows each
weekend in central Phoenix and recording those shows has become an
essential part of our theatre. We've been able to archive and catalog
as many of our wonderful shows as possible through Vimeo and it's been
pretty amazing.
With these video resources, Torch performers have been able to present
professional submission videos to theatres, venues, and improv
festivals across North America. Our teams and coaches can review their
own work to self-evaulate and to improve their shows. Our friends from
across the country can keep up with the great performances we're
creating each week. Students can not only delve into the archive to
catch awesome shows that were before their time, but can also track
their own development as they grow as performers. And, all of us can
go back and relive some of those wonderful memories.
Recently, the video camera that we depend on week in and week out was
stolen from The Torch. We want to continue recording shows, but that
requires a new camera. While initially a downer, we view this theft
not as a loss, but as an opportunity to upgrade our equipment so that
we can continue offering the best quality recordings we can.
Our goal is to raise $1000 by the end of July. This will allow us to
purchase a quality camera that will last for years, as well as
batteries, memory cards, and other small accessories. Anything raised
beyond our target goal will still go towards finding the best possible
camera and mounting it properly in our space.
We've been open as The Torch Theatre at 4721 North Central Avenue for
a year and it's been an amazing year. Now, we have the chance to
update our camera and have even better recordings so we can continue
saving these memories and providing quality portfolios for our
artists, for years to come.
All Torch shows are kept here at the Vimeo link provided down below.
Feel free to watch some of your favorite groups in their shows here
and from across the country.
