Help PCA change the culture of youth sports to provide a positive, character-building experience for all youth athletes!
Positive Coaching Alliance is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit committed to providing all youth athletes a positive, character-building youth sports experience.
There is a crisis in youth sports today. A pervasive win-at-all-costs mentality is diminishing the experience of our children. The opportunity to engage in youth sports happens only once for every child. Let’s reclaim this special time in our youths’ lives. As many as 40 million youth play sports in the United States, more than any other activity aside from attending school.
Together, we can ensure these athletes learn important life-lessons through sports—self-confidence and resiliency, teamwork and leadership, empathy and fair play—lessons these athletes will take with them into classrooms, board rooms and government offices.
PCA is needed because:
-70% of youth drop out of organized youth sports by the age of 13
-90% of volunteer coaches have no formal coaching education or training
-45% of youth report being called names, yelled at, or insulted while playing sports
-21% of youth say they have been pressured to play with an injury.
Using a research-based program, validated by external evaluators, PCA prepares sports leaders, coaches, parents and officials to develop athletes into major league people.
PCA’s continued growth depends on individuals like you contributing to the PCA Movement. We hope you will consider supporting PCA’s Annual Fund by December 31st, 2011. The first $150,000 raised will be matched dollar-for-dollar by a group of PCA supporters including Phil Jackson (11-time NBA Champion Coach), Mark Murphy (Super Bowl Champion Packers President and CEO), and a member of the Boston Celtics ownership group. Donate today and have twice the impact! Thank you for being an important part of the PCA Movement!
