Sandy Siegel's Holiday Miracles
A project of Transverse Myelitis Association
During this very special season, please help us to heal the world.
Pauline was paralyzed in 1994 by a transverse myelitis attack. Over the past 17 years, thousands more people have had this attack in their spinal cords, some of them as young as 4 months old ... or in their 70s and 80s. It happens to people from every ethnic group and from every country around the world. And medical science still does not understand this horrible autoimmune disorder or have the slightest idea what the cause might be. We can only change this situation by attracting physicians and researchers into this discpline. We started the James Lubin Fellowship Fund to make that happen. The doctors who go through this 2 year fellowship program will develop a specialization in the care of people and research in TM, ADEM (acute disseminated encephalomyelitis) and NMO (neuromyelitis optica). We hope to have our first fellow beginning in the 2012 academic year. Please help us to raise the $140,000 we need to fund this critically important fellowship. And for every $140,000 we raise, we can bring another doctor into our discipline. (If you make a credit card donation through this wonderful service, a very small fee will be deducted. If you want to avoid all of the fees, please mail a check to the TMA and designate the donation for the James Lubin Fellowship). During this season of miracles, thank you for helping me to heal the world!
