Bring in MN SNAP, which provides spaying/neutering of family pets at a reduced rate.
The Humane Society of Kandiyohi County built the Hawk Creek Animal Shelter in 2009 after years of fundraising and close work with city and county officials. Meeker and Kandiyohi counties now have a well-staffed and well run shelter that had over 1500 animals come through shelter doors so far this year. All animals are health checked, immunized, micro-chipped and spayed or neutered before adoption. One of the shelter's main goals is addessing the problem of pet over population. The shelter will sponsor, MN SNAP, which stands for MN Spay Neuter Assistance Program, on Friday, February 25, 2011. The mobile unit will come to the shelter and perform surgeries for family pets at a much reduced rate. Cats can be neutered for forty dollars, spayed for fifty dollars and all dogs spayed and neutered for sixty dollars. Please support this cause and this terrific local shelter that is supported by local funds and donations. Check out our website at www.thehskc.com
