Hastings Area YMCA Y Partners Annual Support Campaign

Y Partners gifts provide scholarships to children and families who otherwise could not participate in YMCA programs due to financial need.

Y Partners 2010 is focusing on five critical needs:
*Youth leadership and development
*Safe and affordable child care
*Healthy lifestyles for youth
*Health disparities
*Water safety

Y Partners funds allow the Hastings Area YMCA to meet critical needs in our community!

*93 high school students gained leadership skills by participating in Youth in Government. This program allows students to experience governmental procedures through a 3-day mock assembly at the state capitol.
*Last year, the Hastings Area YMCA provided over $85,000 in scholarships to over 200 families so they could participate in YMCA programs.
*Children from over 100 families enjoyed safe, supervised care in our YMCA Summer Power, Uproar, Sports and Extreme programs.
*On average 250 3rd-5th graders attend Youth Nights and 140 6th-8th graders attend Teen Nights.
*In 2009, over 1,000 children learned to swim through our year-round Swim Academy aquatics program.

	$50 Help two teens participate in Teen Nights--safe, fun activities that promote Y values
	$100 Buy sports equipment for a Youth Sports league so young athletes can learn the fun of healthy competition
	$250 Make it possible for 6 low-income seniors suffering from arthritis to participate in specialized fitness classes
	$500 Provide a scholarship for a young woman to participate in YMCA leadership programs
	$1,500 Provide a full-year membership for a family of 6 to participate in programs including swim lessons for life-long water safety skills
