Instead of cards, gifts, or participation in my zany multiday extravaganza, this year I ask that you donate to my Birthday Trip to Colombia!
Instead of cards, gifts, and participation in my zany multiday birthday extravaganza, this year I'M giving YOU a run for your money...literally! I have committed to running 13 miles (The Rock n Roll half-marathon in DC to be exact) in an effort to fundraise $1300 for my A1:8 Birthday Trip to Colombia. I've already begun training (and have lost a toenail to prove it) and am really hoping that you'll support me in my effort to support and love on others!
WHAT'S THIS A1:8 COLOMBIA STUFF ALL ABOUT?
Check out the video clip above (you can also peruse www.aoneeight.org). In a nutshell A1:8 is National Community Church's walking out Acts 1:8 both at home and abroad. Our Colombia Team will specifically be focussing our posture of service towards the people of Bogota, Colombia.
WHAT DOES A1:8 COLOMBIA "MISSION IN MOVEMENT" LOOK LIKE?
The 2013 A1:8 Colombia Team will meet weekly this semester to do the Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University study together. We will be altering the study to be used as a one week financial campaign in Bogota during the week we are in the country. Our primary goals for the trip are:
- To make a small dent in poverty in a developing nation by slowly reshaping view-points/teaching what the Bible says about finance;
- For team members to grow in their personal commitment to good financial stewardship, and would learn more about what the Bible says regarding money and possessions;
- Make relationships with team members, as well as nationals in country;
- Experience Colombian culture as we stay with locals in their homes.
SO... WOULD YOU LET ME GIVE YOU A RUN FOR YOUR MONEY?
Would you consider supporting our prayerful yet active endeavor to make a small dent in poverty and build relationships with the people of Bogota, Colombia? If so, you can make a tax deductible donation right here on this site or send a personal gift offline via PayPal (email@example.com). Prayers and words of encouragement are also most welcomed!
Thanks so much for considering my 2013 Birthday Cause!
