The HALO Foundation raises awareness and involvement in American children while enhancing the lives of orphans around the world.
HALO supports orphanages in Kenya, Uganda, India, Mexico and Nicaragua. It is our goal to give orphans in need a bright future by providing them food, water, shelter, clothing, education, art therapy, care takers and vocational trianing. With the proper tools, children are able to become contributing members and leaders of their communities once they age out of the home. HALO supports over 300 children in homes around the world.
HALO also provides educational workshops and art therapy to at-risk, homeless and foster care youth in the Kansas City and Denver areas. At HALO Centers for Youth, children are given exposed to a variety of programs that allow them to explore vocational opportunities once they are of age. HALO reaches over 1,000 children domestically per year.
The HALO Aware program is for American youth who want to make a difference. Children from all over the US learn about what it is like to be a child in need on the other side of the world while learning about philanthropy. HALO Aware teaches about the geography, culture and daily life of the children we support. Over 1200 children have been involved in the HALO Aware Program.
Kennedy Kiiru lost his parents at a young age. He and his siblings were working all day in a field, trying to cultivate the ground for food on their grandmother's small plot of land. They shared a blanket at night and slept on the floor. Kennedy's grandmother brought the children to HALO home in Kenya. Kennedy now doesn't have to worry about where their next meal will come from and he is now learning to be a carpenter. This is an example of the impact you can make by joining our mission.
