One project at a time, Habitat for Humanity Riverside is revitalizing neighborhoods.
New houses are built on vacant infill lots. Abandoned bank-owned foreclosures are rehabilitated to new conditions. Worn down homes are repaired. Families and neighbors agree; Habitat is one solution to the economic downturn.
Habitat is changing lives by offering a Hand Up, not a Hand Out. Hard working, low income families are given their first chance at homeownership. Consider this: what is affordable to your child’s school bus driver, a custodian, or a grocer cashier? We find families living in converted garages, cramming five people in one bedroom apartments, and three families sharing one house because it’s the only home they can afford. With each Habitat home, more families build new lives on the foundations that are laid.
