Brothers, Family, and Friends’ official fundraising page for Sigma Chi’s Derby Days 2012!

Dear Brothers, Friends and Family of GW Sigma Chi,

Every year, our chapter organizes a fundraising week known as Derby Days. During Derby Days, the Panhellenic Association sororities of GW compete against one another to see who can raise the most money for Children’s National Medical Center, our local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital.

The long standing tradition of Derby Days started in 1933 at the University of California-Berkley. Originally created as a fundraising skit night, Sigma Chi chapters across the country quickly adopted the concept of Derby Days, transforming it into our premiere week-long philanthropic event. All funds raised during the week are donated to our national beneficiary, the Children’s Miracle Network, who has received over $4.2 million in donations from Sigma Chi since 1992.

Above the excitement, competition, and entertainment of Derby Days, the main purpose is to raise money for Children’s Miracle Network. While competing against the other sororities, you are also helping save lives. Children’s Miracle Network aids in supporting children’s hospitals across the country. Every year 17 million children are treated by these hospitals and Children’s Miracle. No child, regardless of ability to pay, is ever turned away from a Children’s Miracle Network hospital. Derby Days 2012 hopes to exceed last year’s fundraising efforts with your support to be donated to this great organization.

On behalf of the brothers of GW Sigma Chi,

Nick Yoka

Derby Days Chair
