B3 is a non-profit organization focused on community service both locally and abroad. This year I will be traveling with B3 to Guyana.
This year I will be traveling with an organization, named Builders Beyond Boarders (B3). B3 is a non-profit organization committed to help strengthen the lives of many people living in impoverished countries. B3 travels to different Central and South American countries each year and dedicates their time to a community service project. This year, as a participant in B3, I will be traveling to Guyana to participate in a building project. Unfortunately last year I was unable to participate in B3 because of a knee injury, but I cannot wait for this years trip!
While B3 focuses on community service abroad in several countries, we also focus our service here in Connecticut. Almost every weekend a new community service project is available from help building gardens locally in Westport to our clean water project in Bridgeport. One of the many requirements to travel with B3 is to complete 10 hours of local community service. Through this experience with B3 I hope to gain a better perspective of my own world as well as those living under very different circumstances. Understanding and appreciating what I have relative to others in the world is my first step toward becoming a caring global citizen.
I feel so lucky to be able to take part in this trip and be able to help people in need. An important part of the B3 experience requires a year-long commitment on my part. In addition to local community service projects, B3 requires all of its participants to raise their own money to be able to go on the trip. My parents have put down a $500 deposit for the trip, but B3 asks each of the participants to raise the money for the trip over spring break. Your donation on my behalf will help me reach my goal of raising $2,750 to pay for my part of the trip. By donating on my behalf, you will be helping me be a part of this year’s B3 trip to Guyana. If you would like to make a donation please make a check out to Builders Beyond Boarders, with my name (Campbell Goldsmith) on the memo line. Also I have created a Razoo page were you can donate online using a credit card, the link to page is below. I am so excited for this year’s trip!
Thank you so much for all of your support!
