Donations go to the Gulf Coast Oil Spill Fund.
I was born in Mississippi, so I've always had a soft spot for the Gulf Coast area. The oil spill and related tragedy have been overwhelming for the wildlife and people in the area. I've donated what I can, but I wanted a way to do more and to encourage others to give. All donations go to the Gulf Coast Oil Spill Fund. Here's some information from their website:
"100 percent of all donations to the Gulf Coast Oil Spill Fund will be granted to organizations working tirelessly in the effected areas. Our focus is to help fishermen and their families in the following parishes: Plaquemines, St. Bernard, lower Jefferson, Terrebonne, and Lafourche. The Greater New Orleans Foundations, administer of the Gulf Coast Oil Spill Fund, is a 501 (c) 3 organization. We have the highest rankings possible on CharityNavigator.org and we’re accredited by the Council on Foundation."
Give what you can. Every little bit makes a difference!
