There’s nothing more emblematic of the holidays than sitting down to enjoy a large meal surrounded by those you love most. For most of us, it’s tradition. But to our poorest neighbors here in the District of Columbia, a holiday meal is a luxury they simply cannot afford.

That’s where Bread for the City steps in to help. Through their annual Holiday Helpings campaign, they strive to ensure that the city’s poor can also share in the celebration of the holidays.

This year, they plan to provide 9,000 low-income DC families with a healthful holiday meal. Just $29 provides Holiday Helpings to a family of four—so your gift makes a difference!
