During this upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, join me in giving thanks for what we have by giving back to those who are less fortunate.
There’s nothing more emblematic of the holidays than sitting down to enjoy a large meal surrounded by those you love most. For most of us, it’s tradition. But to our poorest neighbors here in the District of Columbia, a holiday meal is a luxury they simply cannot afford.
That’s where Bread for the City steps in to help. Through their annual Holiday Helpings campaign, they strive to ensure that the city’s poor can also share in the celebration of the holidays.
This year, they plan to provide 9,000 low-income DC families with a healthful holiday meal. Just $29 provides Holiday Helpings to a family of four—so your gift makes a difference!
Please join me in helping them achieve this goal by raising money to help at least 25 DC-area families. And this season, let's make sure that those less fortunate than ourselves can enjoy the holidays a little more easily.
