For every $17 donated or raised in the Lose the Shoes tournament, one child will graduate from the Grassroot Soccer program!
Grassroot Soccer, an amazing HIV/AIDS prevention program founded in 2003 by Dr. Thomas Clark, DC '92/DMS '01. Grassroot Soccer is an NGO that uses the power and popularity of soccer in the fight against HIV/AIDS by enlisting local soccer stars and role models to teach the program. The unique and comprehensive curriculum educates youth in Africa, including Zimbabwe, South Africa, Zambia, Botswana, Ethiopia, Liberia, Lesotho, and Namibia, about HIV/AIDS and then gives them the tools to continue such work in their communities.
