Grand Rapids Food Shelf Minnesota FoodShare March Campaign
A project of Second Harvest North Central Food Bank
March is Minnesota FoodShare Month. Join Second Harvest and the Grand Rapids Food Shelf and help feed the hungry in your community.
Do you know the face of hunger? Yes, you do.
One out of nine households in the Grand Rapids area relied on the Food Shelf in 2010.
The Grand Rapids Food Shelf needs you. We work every day to help local families meet their basic needs by putting food on the table. To continue to meet the need, we ask you to donate what you can to the Minnesota March FoodShare Campaign. All donations made to the Grand Rapids Food Shelf stay right here and provide food and hope to more than 800 families who use the food shelf each month.
Rural communities like ours are some of the hardest hit by the current economic crisis. Job losses, combined with the rising cost of housing, food, medicine, and energy, place tremendous stress on families already living on the edge. The Grand Rapids Food Shelf has struggled to keep the shelves full at these times of high demand. Your donation can help ensure we have enough food to restock our shelves in the months to come.
We can end hunger for local families, one meal at a time. For every dollar donated, we provide up to five nutritious meals to those who often have nowhere else to turn for help. Hunger negatively affects us all. Through your concern and action we can do something about it. The Grand Rapids Food Shelf provides a safety net for some of our most vulnerable citizens.
The important thing to remember is that the face of hunger lives right here in our community - closer than you think. March is the time of year you can leverage additional dollars for the Food Shelf through your generous donation.

On behalf of the many individuals, families, children, and seniors that we keep from going hungry every day, we thank you for your continued support.
