Grand Marais Art Colony
Since 1947 the Art Colony has nurtured creativity on the North Shore of Minnesota. Help us continue our legacy!
Located on the rugged North Shore of Lake Superior, the Grand Marais Art Colony is Minnesota's longest lived art colony. For 65 years we have offered classes, provided services to artists and promoted art in our community.
The Art Colony's facilities include studios in glass, clay, printmaking and visual arts. We offer year-round classes for novices to professional artists in a variety of media as well as access to professional studio space for independent work.
Additionally, the Art Colony hosts numerous annual events & exhibits including the Grand Marais Arts Festival in July, Plein Air Competition & Exhibit in September, a Member Show in October, Empty Bowls in November and the Winter Arts Festival in January.
Today we ask you to help sustain this dynamic organization so we can continue to serve creative exploration. Your support is instrumental in our financial health as only one third of our budget is covered by class tuition - the remaining portion must be raised through donations, membership, grants and other sources.
Membership provides the Art Colony with the essential funds needed to fulfill our mission and continue our legacy for years to come. In exchange we offer several benefits to members of every level. Please join our community of artists and art enthusiasts and ensure our continued legacy on the North Shore of Lake Superior!
