5th Grade Field Trips

Dear 5th Grade Families,

We have had a great start to the school year but we need your help to continue to make your child’s learning experience at Spring Glen School as rich as it can be! The 5th grade teachers are planning a number of exciting field trips this year to supplement and extend the classroom curriculum.

The district does not provide a field trip budget for teachers; parents, through the PTA, pay for all field trips. We are asking you to contribute directly to the field trip fund for your child’s grade.

The field trips/activities proposed for the 5th Grade class include:

CT Science Center – Cost: $1,100
Eli Whitney Museum – Cost: $950
Leitner Planetarium – Cost: $100
Civil War Reenactors – Cost: $300

In addition, several free or minimal cost field trips are planned including trips to the British Art Museum and Lancraft Fife and Drums.

Number of 5th Grade Students: 43

Cost per child: $57

Teachers need to finalize classroom budgets now in order to book the remaining field trips. Please make your voluntary contribution by Firday, December 9th, 2011.
