Your help is needed to fund the Kindergarten field trips
Dear Kindergarten Families,
We have had a great start to the school year but we need your help to continue to make your child’s learning experience at Spring Glen School as rich as it can be! The kindergarten teachers are planning a number of exciting field trips this year to supplement and extend the classroom curriculum.
The district does not provide a field trip budget for teachers; parents, through the PTA, pay for all field trips. We are asking you to contribute directly to the field trip fund for your child’s grade.
The field trips/activities proposed for the kindergarten class include:
Norton’s Apple Orchard – Cost: $500
Eli Whitney Museum – Cost: $650
Lighthouse Point Park – Cost: $250
CT Audubon Society – Cost: $600
The Leitner Family Observatory and Planetarium – Cost: $200
In addition, several free or minimal cost field trips are planned including trips to the Hamden Memorial Library, Hamden Fire Station and Brooksvale Park.
Number of Kindergarten Students: 64
Cost per child: $35
Teachers need to finalize classroom budgets now in order to book the remaining field trips. Please send in your voluntary contribution as soon as possible.
If you have specific questions regarding the field trips planned for your class, please contact your teacher.
Thank you,
Spring Glen School PTA
