GlobeMed at MIT
A project of GlobeMed
GlobeMed at MIT Partners with Hope through Health in Kara, Togo to support their HIV/AIDS clinics
Who We Are // GlobeMed at MIT
Founded in 2011, GlobeMed at MIT is a student-led organization with a lot of enthusiasm, passion and ambition to improve the health of people living in poverty. To work towards global heath and promote health as a human right, we are partnered with Hope Through Health (HTH), a non-profit organization that works to improve the lives of those living with HIV/AIDS in Togo. Throughout the year, we work collaboratively with HTH to develop projects and initiatives that aim to improve the capacity and efficiency of their healthcare services for HIV+ adults and children in Togo.
Our Partner // Hope Through Health in Kara, Togo
Hope Through Health (HTH) works with a grassroots, community-led organization called AED-Lidaw, which empowers over 2700 HIV+ patients to design, deliver, and evaluate their own community-based care. HTH also works with AED-Lidaw to increase access to care, prevent the spread of HIV from mother to child, and provide community psychosocial services.
Our Project // $5000 for Improving Pharmacy Capacity and Management
Our Project has three main objectives:
We Need Your Support! Your money would go towards helping HTH provide more effective healthcare to HIV+ patients in Togo. By increasing technological capacity and improving computer literacy, we will be helping HTH and AED-Lidaw drastically improve the delivery of healthcare by eliminating the inconsistencies associated with the use of paper-based data collection and the inefficiencies in manually managing medications for over 2700 patients.
