A project of GlobeMed
GlobeMed at MIT is partnered with Hope Through Health in Togo to provide comprehensive, quality healthcare to individuals living with HIV.
Who We Are // GlobeMed at MIT
Founded in 2011, GlobeMed at MIT is partnered with Hope Through Health in Kara, Togo. Together, we work to provide comprehensive healthcare for HIV + individuals living in north of Togo.
Our Partner // Hope Through Health in Kara, Togo
Hope Through Health (HTH) works with a grassroots, community-led organization called AED-Lidaw, which empowers over 1600 HIV+ patients to design, deliver, and evaluate their own community-based care. HTH also works with AED-Lidaw to increase access to care, prevent the spread of HIV from mother to child, and provide community psychosocial services. Aside from supporting Hope Through Health through providing prescription medications, GlobeMed at MIT is currently working on various projects in collaboration with Hope Through Health that aim to increase the technological capacity of the clinics. Since our partnership began in 2012, GlobeMed at MIT has raised over $6,000 to support the work of Hope Through Health.
Our Project // $6000 for Improving Pharmacy Capacity
Our fundraising goal will go towards the pharmacy, however, we are also working to improve the technological capacity of the clinics through two main projects:
(1) Providing support for Dimagi CommCare development. CommCare is a mobile health platform that will improve data collection methods for Community Health Workers and allow them to more easily connect patients to the services they need.
(2) Building a Microsoft Access database to allow for the centralization of data
