Your donation to GRA will help us plant trees, build hard-rock wells, teach permaculture and provide vital support to orphans in Tanzania.

We promote simple, natural and affordable solutions to the challenges of poverty, malnutrition, disease and environmental degradation in Tanzania (near Lake Victoria and Serengeti National Park). We have programs in permaculture (sustainable agriculture), reforestation, well drilling, alternative cooking technologies (solar cooking, jatropha seed oil, etc.), orphans sponsorship and herbal medicine.

Our permaculture program is operated out of the Kinesi Village Permaculture Training Center. This is an international permaculture center where many families enrolled in our Orphans Support Program grow their own food and raise and distribute thousands of free tree seedlings to their community.

Our well drilling program offers affordable and highest quality hard rock boreholes complete with top of the line BluePump hand-pumps. In the past few years we have drilled over 60 successful wells, each providing 300-500 people their only access to a source of clean, safe water. Our drilling department, Maji Mengi, is located in Musoma, Tanzania at our office headquarters.

Our orphans program was cited in an AIDSTAR-One technical breif as a model of sustainability for its integration of permaculture training with charitable support. http://www.aidstar-one.com/focus_areas/ovc/resources/technical_briefs/permaculture_for_OVC

Our Favorite Quote: Though the problems of the world are increasingly more complex, the solutions remain embarrassingly simple. ~ Bill Mollison, co-founder of the world wide permaculture movement
