Help TCMA offer media advocacy classess, internships to budding reporters and an online newspaper featuring otherwise unheard voices.

Twin Cities Media Alliance teaches people how to tell their stories through media advocacy training, journalism internships and by publishing an online newspaper (Twin Cities Daily Planet) that features their stories.

In a time when newspapers are closing and we are becoming more reliant on citizen journalism, it is important to have citizens who are able to speak for themselves , to have journalists who are competent and motivated to help tell those stories. I also want news that can't be bought - but that means asking friend and colleagues to help support the reporter, the editors, the teachers and the platform.

In the last year I have enjoyed attending session - like the Fall Forum and talk with Bob McChesney (found of FreePress.net). I have enjoyed news breaking reports such as the recent story on the UMN film, Troubled Waters, which may have been kept in the dark without investigative journalism from the Twin Cities Daily Planet. And Arts Orbit is always the first place I go for fun activities in the Cities.
