GOTR-DC inspires girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively intergates training to run a 5k and envisions a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams.

GOTR-DC started in 2006 with 13 girls on one team. Today, GOTR-DC serves almost 2,000 girls annually in all 8 Wards of the District and provides scholarship funding to over 60% of those girls.

GOTR-DC hears countless testimonials of the positive and often life-changing impact of the program on both the girls and their coaches. Here is one of our favorites:

“It is nearly impossible to describe the positive impact GOTR has had on my daughter. She sees herself improving every week and comes home proudly to talk about how much further she went. It fosters a sense of inclusiveness that is subtle but powerful. This was really something that she didn't think she could do. And we all know how it can change our lives when we get into something and discover that, indeed, we can surprise ourselves!”
