I'm running the Kasier Half Marathon to raise money for Girls on the Run, an organization that uses running to promote confidence in girls
I am one of those crazy people who love running for fun! However, this was not always the case and is something I have grown into. A few years ago after a severe shoulder injury from my time playing varisty tennis in college, I discovered running as a way to not only keep in shape physically, but to find mental peace. Ever since running for me is much more than getting in a work out; running is how I de-stress and clear my mind. Additionally I’ve found that running has increased my self-confidence in my abilities to overcome challenges and rough times.
I hope running can do what it has done for me, to young girls looking to build confidence and test their abilities. Girls on the Run is a great program that not only introduces young girls to the importance of staying fit and healthy but teaches them values they can carry with them the rest of their lives.
This will be my second half marathon to date. I ran my first in 2:20. I hope to reduce my finish time by 10-15 minutes for this race!
