The students of Mrs. Gills' First Grade Class have committed to nightly reading in order to raise funds for classroom technology.
Our three favorite authors are Dr. Seuss, Arnold Lobel, and Ezra Jack Keats. Dr. Seuss writes really good, funny stories with interesting characters. He draws great pictures. When we read Dr. Seuss books, we feel like we are going on a real adventure and we meet creatures that we have never met before. One of our favorites is the Cat in the Hat. We also like the jokes and rhymes in Green Eggs and Ham.
We also enjoy the Frog and Toad books written by Arnold Lobel. Frog and Toad share many different feelings. They can be sad, mad, and happy in the same story. Even though they might disagree, they usually get along with each other.
The stories written by Ezra Jack Keats show the different ways kids grow up. We think the stories are funny and really could have happened.
