Gift of Produce

The Gift of Produce was founded by the Houston Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Association in 1986. With a vision of helping provide fresh produce to those in need in our local community, the Gift of Produce unites grocers, produce suppliers and shoppers, turning this vision into a reality. The Gift of Produce benefits Houston Food Bank, enabling them to bring fresh fruits and vegetables to the tables of the hungry.

Since its inception, the Gift of Produce has grown from a "giving" yield of 100,000 pounds of produce in the first year to more than one million pounds each year for the past nine years. In 2010, the Gift of Produce raised over 1.25 million pounds of produce. In total, the Gift of Produce has contributed more than 20 million pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables for local hunger relief!
