DC Public Education Fund is excited to partner with GE's Asian Pacific American Forum to support STEM in DC Public Schools (DCPS).

DCPS and DC Public Education Fund (Education Fund) are elevating their focus on innovative learning models to support teachers in engaging students across all subject areas. DCPS has prioritized the implementation of hybrid learning models to drive critical student achievement district-wide.

The term hybrid or blended learning refers to a mix of different learning environment including traditional face-to-face classroom methods and online instruction. Hybrid learning models have changed the role of technology in the classroom from that of a supportive tool to an integrated component of instruction.

Based on several years of successful pilots, DCPS is poised to advance its use of hybrid learning models in 2012 and has committed to developing and launching a robust and comprehensive district-wide Hybrid Learning Models Initiative with an initial focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) subjects. The STEM Hybrid Learning Models Initiative combines DCPS’ STEM and technology efforts to support educators, students, and systems, and ultimately transform student achievement.
