Gabe Vorobiof fundraising for CHABAD OF WEST HILLS
We are running the 2013 LA Marathon to raise money for our local shul- Chabad of West Hills.
Before Alisa and I moved from Connecticut to LA- Rabbi Avi's call was the one I received welcoming us to a city we hadn't arrived to yet. A few weeks later, he took time from his busy schedule to introduce us to the shul (and an excellent kosher sushi restaurant) over lunch. Little did I know then that our relatiosnship would lead me to run a marathon!
With the help of our formidable captain, Brett Saevitzon, we have been pounding the pavement since early December. Those early mornings when you were curled up in bed, the Schleppers were pounding. When you were drinking tea watching TV late at night, the Schleppers have been pounding. And on Sunday March 17th, we will be pounding once more!!!
Chabad of West Hills was founded by Rabbi Avi and Rebbetzin Dena Rabin in 2005. They are energetic, inspirational and dedicated people who bring an aspect to Judaism not easily found in the US- truth, tradition and Torah.
Chabad of West Hills is a synagogue where every Jew regardless of affliation or practice can come to explore Judaism, become connected to the Jewish nation, or participate in many wonderful programs.
From Hebrew School, Adult Education, Kabbalah classes, Women's Torah class, Jewish Learning Institute, they are the epicenter of Jewish learning in the West Valley.
They deeply need support for the programs to continue and thrive. I'm asking you to please make a donation and support me for a race only a meshuganah would do, namely 26 miles of pure torture.
