Help us meet our 2011 goal of $25,000 before December 31st by contributing to the Youth Scholarship Fund.

Fred Wells Tennis and Education Center is one of the most exciting youth development nonprofits in the Twin Cities, a place where kids from all socio economic and cultural backgrounds can flourish in their out-of-school time.

It costs between $75/week to $3700/year to support a student in our tennis and education programs. From the 3rd graders in the Citizens of the Court program, to the middle school girls in Girls Squad and Boys Leadership Team to the high school student athletes in Tennis2College, the youth in the FWTEC programs are supported to find success on and off the court. Tennis and Education staff and volunteers mentor, coach and ensure that each day is a fresh new start for at-risk kids, where they have a voice and can define a healthy future for themselves. For student athletes and fitness minded students alike, the Multicultural Junior Tennis Programs are based on the assumption that everyone has room to grow and strive for excellence. All youth programs emphasize a culture of respect, personal responsibility, honesty, sportsmanship and lifelong fitness and learning.

65% of the 450 kids we serve each year are on full or partial scholarship. More than half of all of our students and about 95% of those participating in our education programs are on "free and reduced" meals in school. Scholarships are essential to our mission and to the success of kids in all of our programs. It’s that simple!

Please help us meet our year-end goal of raising the $25,000 for the Youth Scholarship Fund so we can give these wonderful youngsters a safe and stimulating environment where they can flourish during their out-of-school time.

Your donation will be matched dollar for dollar by a Matching Gift Fund provided by our Board and some generous other donors. Thank you for caring and contributing!!
