Fundraiser for the Carson Valley Discovery Trail
Carson Valley Trails Association fundraising for CARSON VALLEY TRAILS ASSOCIATION
CVTA's vision is to connect the entire Carson Valley community to nature by completing the 100-mile Carson Valley Discovery Trail.
The Carson Valley Trails Association (CVTA) is an all volunteer nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. CVTA works to access, build and maintain trails within the beautiful public lands within and around the Carson Valley for present and future generations to enjoy. The Fay-Luther and Jobs Peak Ranch trails were constructed and are maintained by CVTA volunteers. These popular, well-used trails allow hikers, mountain bikers and equestrians of all ages to connect with nature while enjoying the natural beauty of the Carson Valley.
Currently, CVTA is working with a number of agencies, including Douglas County, the U.S. Forest Service, the National Park Service, the Bureau of Land Management, the Washoe Tribe of California & Nevada, The Nature Conservancy and others to connect current and future trail segments within the Carson Valley into a 100-mile "theme" trail - the Carson Valley Discovery Trail.
CVTA is nearing completing of a significant portion of the Carson Valley Discovery Trail - the 22-mile Genoa Foothill Trail project. This trail is expected to be open for public use in the spring of 2012.
The "Fundraiser for the Carson Valley Discovery Trail" will kick off fundraising to support the construction of the Carson Valley Discovery Trail.
