WHY FUNDRAISE FOR THE EFFORTS OF ST. JOHN'S AND CHUNDIKULI COLLEGES?

Many of my friends and family have been touched by their immensely positive and formative experiences at St. John's College (or its sister school, Chundikuli Girls School) in Jaffna, Sri Lanka. They fondly recall these premier schools as the pride of the Jaffna community as well as a source of holistic education for the youth in the region. Through a high level of civic engagment, scholastic and extra-cirricular standards, these two schools together have shaped communities and produced some of the brightest, most accompished individuals to come from Sri Lanka.

By participating in this fundraiser, you are investing in St. John's and Chundikuli Colleges as well as transforming the life of a child displaced by civil war. And by helping these schools uplift the lives of these children through education, you are investing in improving the future of Sri Lanka.

WHO BENEFITS?

Your contributions in this fundraiser will go directly to the most underprivileged students from the internally displaced camps who, despite their hardships, have shown a spark of motivation to learn and perservere in seeking an education. Many of these children have been made orphans due to the civil war in Sri Lanka, and your contributions will directly benefit those children who lost parents, a home, or entire families. Children are selected to attend St. John's or Chundikuli College based on their level of hardship and their motivation to learn.

Your donation will help educate and uplift children and youth who otherwise would have limited or no access to education. How your donation will specifically be used is shown in the donation tiers to the right.

HOW ARE THE FUNDS DISBURSED?

Visions Global Empowerment maximizes their positive impact by partnering with schools and NGOs who support the education of youth affected by conflict or poverty. Visions has identified St. John’s College Jaffna as one of the leading institutions working towards improving the educational reconstruction process in Sri Lanka, by serving the needs of Internally Displaced children and youth.
