Girls on the Run is a (non-profit) transformational learning program for 8 to 13 year-old girls.
I ran competitively in high school and (a bit) in college. My experiences with my running teammates made my teenage years easier, helped me develop a strong sense of self worth, and taught me that goals can be achieved with hard work and serious commitment.
GIRLS ON THE RUN believes that every girl:
can embrace who she is,
can define who she wants to be,
can rise to any challenge,
can change the world.
I want to share that with others and make another generation of girls to find that within themselves.
After years of non-running, I'm jumping back in and reminding myself of those earlier lessons through running again. Hopefully, I can awaken that spirit for other girls who are just beginning to get out and run!
