We're raising $7,200 for girls' sponsorships for She's the First partner school Arlington Academy of Hope. We're visiting the girls in July!

A Question on a Cold Night

It started with a question: "What are your goals this year?" We snuggled on Allison's bed in a cold February night in our small NYC apartment.

Carla jumped in. "I want to visit a She's the First school this summer."

Silence blanketed the room. We smiled at each other. In unison, Taylor and Allison exclaimed "Me too!" That night, we filled the walls of our apartment with discussion about education, opportunity, and the change we wanted to make.

Growing up in America, we've been blessed to have an education that has given us the platform to think openly, pursue our goals, and develop as individuals. Sitting on Allison's bed that night, we recognized that many young people, especially girls, do not have that opportunity.

In fact, of the 130 million youth who are out of school in the world, 70% are girls. One in four girls in the developing world is not in school. This must change. All girls deserve a chance at an education. She's the First partner school Arlington Academy of Hope is giving young girls in Uganda a chance at an education.

In that moment on that cold night, we committed ourselves to several fearless goals:

1. Raising money to sponsor at least 20 girls at Arlington Academy of Hope ($7,200)

2. Visiting the girls we sponsor and develop curriculum for our visit

3. Raising awareness for girls' education in the US through content

We are asking for your partnership in bringing hope & education to the girls of Uganda through your donation.

About Arlington Academy of Hope and Your Donation

The AAH is a volunteer, not-for-profit organization based in the United States that helps children in rural Uganda to reach their full potential. AAH has built a school and two medical clinics and supports more than 18 local schools in Bududa and Manafwa districts.

We chose to visit Arlington Academy of Hope because of the success it has seen in the village. Typical village schools send 14% of students to secondary school while AAH has sent 100% of its graduating primary school classes to secondary school.
