  • The MN Raptor Center has participated in the Learning Center's Earth Day events.
  • 3M SETAC helped children explore water cleaning techniques at Earth Day.
  • Exhibits inside enthrall visitors of all ages
  • The Learning Center is a National Park Service Partner site with Jr. Ranger classes each summer taught by Park Rangers
  • The viewing of birds and other wildlife from the many overlooks enthrall visitors year round
  • The Learning Center offers summer enrichment classes for elementary school kids.
  • Prescott Island has an eagle's nest which can be seen through spotting scopes. This was taken at the eagle's nest.
  • The Center, supported by the Friends of Freedom Park, is an Audubon Birding site.
  • The Great River Road Visitor and Learning Center features inside and outside exhibits and several educational gardens
  • Earth Day celebrations each year bring in many families and individuals for fun activities
  • Grade 2 enjoys a bird related nature field trip led by our Interpretive Naturalist
  • Bruce the Bug Guy has been regularly featured in our children's programs since 2006.
